Learney is committed to ensuring that all users, including students, teachers, and administrators with disabilities, can access and use our services on an equal basis. Accessibility is part of how we design, build, and improve the Learney platform, because literacy learning should be available to every learner.
The Company aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which is the standard required for educational technology under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. WCAG is organized around four principles: content must be Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR).
The 2024 final rule under ADA Title II requires state and local governments (including school districts) to make the web, mobile, and third-party content they provide or use (including learning management systems) conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The compliance deadlines are April 26, 2027 for larger school districts (serving populations of 50,000 or more) and April 26, 2028 for all others. Learney aims to meet the same standard in order to support school districts in fulfilling this obligation.
Learney is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA: some features meet the standard and others are still being assessed and improved. "Partially conformant" means that parts of the platform do not yet fully conform to the standard.
We are preparing a VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) / Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR). Please contact [email protected] for the current status.
